to see and do in the local area. The cottages are near to
the M42 and so can be used for visiting the National
Exhibition Centre and the many attractions of Birmingham,
whilst having a comfortable and tranquil place to retire to
after a busy day.

Battle Field Site of
famous battle in 1485 where Richard III was killed and Henry
VII (the first Tudor king) was crowned.

Lovely countryside walks and an assault course and
activities for older children.
Adventure Farm
This is also part of the National Forest. This is a very
good family day out with lots of children's activities
including a very good indoor play area and a Maize Maze
which is open in the summer months.
Sphereing
The Birmingham North franchise of Spheremania operate
within walking distance of Donative Holiday Cottages.
This activity involves going down a hill inside a giant
ball!, this can include water in the ball as well or
night time sphereing.
Calke Abbey
Lovely woodland walks, National Trust house and children’s
playground.
Shackestone
Railway
The Bosworth Battlefield
railway line. Operates most week-ends and selected week
days.
Pooley
Heritage Centre
Set on the site of an old colliery, there are countryside
and canal walks, woodland playground and visitor centre with
light refreshments.
Tamworth
Castle
Norman castle and museum with rooms remaining from the 13th
to the 18th century.
